| I just wanted to say that I have been on my second vacation this summer
and it was AWESOME!! My mother and I took a 2 day trip down to Houston, TX... a long drive for only 2 days, but it was so totally worth it!
We got there Monday night and crashed after driving for 11 hours. Then
Tuesday morning, we went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
Yes, albeit that I am a science geek... (I am a bio major... duh!) We
got to meander the museum and look at all the evolutionary view of the
earth...such a sad waste... but that isn't the point. We got to go the
Lord of the Rings Exhibit! It was super cool! It was so interesting!
They had pictures, miniatures, costumes, videos, technology scanning
stuff, and a whole lot more. It is one of only three venues in the US
and then it leaves. The scariest part was seeing a dummy of Boromir in
the boat... it looked exactly like Sean Bean... I was freaked out; it
looked as though he could jump at you in at any moment.
Any who,
that wasn't the point of the trip. On Christmas Day, my mother and I
gave ourselves a little gift. We bought tickets to the Phantom of the
Opera play. That was the motivation for the entire trip. It was worth
it. I have been wanting to see the play for nearly 5 years, and
finally that wish came true. It was unbelievable! Watching the
chandelier raise to the ceiling was bone chilling. There was so much
difference from the movie that they are nearly incomparable. I would
have to admit that I didn't like the girl who played Christine... too
old and too much vibrato. It hurt your ears and clashed with the other
actors. It was a standing ovation performance, espcially for the
Phantom. I hope you all have a lovely day!

| Hey everyone! I am in SoCal right now... just a few blocks from the water! It is beautiful here! Thursday (Jay's B-day) I went to Disneyland and got to go on a lot of the original rides like Small World, Snow White, Peter Pan, Splash Mountain, and more. We also got to go to California Adventurland too! The Tower of Terror is AWESOME!!! I even got my mom to go on it with me!
Today, I am in Dana Point/ San Clemente visiting my Grandmother since it is her birthday and we went to the Ritz for lunch! It was wonderful! I had roasted halibit with curry lobster sauce and then we had a sampler dessert! OH WOW!!! I am so full but it was delicious!
I am so excited to be here. I love this place! I still have another week and a half so I need to be enjoying it... not sitting on a computer! If I can use my computer, I'll post picture from this week... if not I'll wait till I get home!
Ciao! Lindsey | | |
